TO THE PRO-RACING PEOPLE THAT READ THIS PAGE

.by Greyhound Racing - Don't Bet On It on Wednesday, March 30, 2011 at 1:22am ·.To those pro-racing people that keep asking this question - why don't you come and see my dogs - the dogs are happy and the kennels are clean, my dogs live like kings, they get to sleep on the couch? Not everyone in the industry treats their dogs bad and gets them killed. Why are we putting everyone in the same boat? Blah, Blah, Blah







We ask you the following question: because YOUR dogs are treated "well" and you have "nice"kennels - does this mean it it OK to participate and support an industry which is responsible for the following;







1. The death of thousands of young greyhounds because they don't have a high prey drive.



2. The death of thousands of greyhounds because they are slow and don't win money.



3. The thousands upon thousands of greyhounds that suffer from the injuries they receive from racing.



4. The widespread use of ***** to mask injuries and improve performance (and increase suffering)



5. The hundreds of greyhounds that die as a direct result of their injuries from racing.



6. The thousands of retired greyhounds that are killed.



7. The thousands of greyhounds that are sold to laboratories for experiments or animal products. Just ask UQ at Gatton how many greyhounds they dissect each year?



8. The greyhounds that are sold to Asian countries which have NO animal welfare laws and where being skinned alive is common and legal?







This is the industry in which you participate - are these things OK with you - are you proud of it? Is this the way we should be treating these beautiful, gentle dogs?







By involving yourself in this industry you condone the suffering and cruelty towards greyhounds.



You are making a dog killing industry more viable.



Anyone that truly loved animals and greyhounds would not do so.







Greyhound racing should be outlawed because the Australian greyhound racing system cannot exist without breeding and disposing of large numbers of dogs, and because the economics of the industry require that profits be valued above the welfare of the dogs.







It should also be outlawed because of the large numbers of greyhounds that are injured and killed purely in order to sustain a gambling industry. Dogs should not be treated as commodities to suffer and dispose of at the whim of humans.











This group believes that greyhounds should not be bred to die for entertainment, to die so people can bet, to die so people can try and get rich from a big win or because they enjoy the thrill of winning. We don't agree with this exploitation of greyhounds. So before telling us again how comfortable your greyhound is on your couch and how they were bred to chase - try and understand we are advocating for the thousands upon thousands which are NOT on your couch. We are working for the underdog.







We also oppose the fact that our taxes fund this dog killing industry







And for your information the admins of this page 100% oppose the horse racing industry as well, where 18 000 horses are killed a year. We also oppose the puppy mills and support any movements which advocate and stop cruelty to animals. There are many groups trying to expose those atrocities to animals. We are doing our bit for animals by exposing THIS death industry.







This industry has been going since 1927, and is not getting any better. So are we to sit by and be silent and support the few that look after their dogs while thousands die?







Get use to us, because we are not going anywhere!!!

A tutte quelle persone a favore delle corse che continuano a dire “Venite a vedere i mie cani, loro sono felici, i kennel sono puliti, vivono come re e dormono sul divano…Non tutte le persone all’interno dell’industria delle corse trattano male i loro cani e li fa uccidere. Perché fare di un’erba un fascio?” e bla bla bla…



Vi facciamo questa domanda:



Il fatto che i VOSTRI cani stiano bene e che voi abbiate dei bei kennel, è condizione sufficiente per supportare un'industria che è responsabile di tutto ciò che segue?:

1- La morte di migliaia di giovani greyhound, solo perché hanno poco istinto predatorio;

2- La morte di migliaia di greyhound adulti, solo perché son lenti e non fanno soldi;

3- Le migliaia di migliaia di greyhound feriti durante le gare;

4- L’uso indiscriminato di droghe per mascherare le lesioni e aumentare le prestazioni (e la sofferenza);

5- Le centinaia di greyhound che muoiono a causa delle ferite riportate in corsa;

6- Le migliaia di greyhound ritirati e poi uccisi;

7- Le migliaia di greyhound venduti ai laboratori per esperimenti; chiedete quanti greyhound dissezionano ogni anno all’università del Queensland, a Gatton.

8- I greyhound venduti ai paesi asiatici, i quali sono privi di qualunque legge per il benessere animale e dove spellare animali vivi è comune e legale.



Questa è l’industria alla quale voi siete legati.

Queste cose vanno bene per voi?

Siete orgogliosi?

E’ questo il modo in cui volete che siano trattati questi gentili e bellissimi cani?

Facendovi coinvolgere in questo business, voi giustificate le crudeltà perpetrate sui greyhound. Siete voi che state rendendo più produttiva un’industria che uccide i cani. Chiunque amasse davvero i greyhound e gli animali, non lo farebbe.



Le corse dei greyhound dovrebbero essere fuori legge perché l’intero sistema australiano non può esistere senza l’allevamento intensivo e l’uccisione di massa di un grande numero di greyhound, e perché l’economia stessa dell’industria richiede che il profitto venga prima del benessere dei cani.



Dovrebbe essere illegale per l’enorme numero di cani feriti e uccisi solo in virtù di un gioco di scommesse. I cani non sono merce di cui disporre a capriccio dell’uomo.



Questo gruppo crede che i greyhound non dovrebbero essere allevati a morire per intrattenimento, a morire perché la gente possa scommettere, a morire per far si che la gente provi a diventare ricca grazie a una vincita o goda dell’eccitazione della vittoria.

Ci opponiamo allo sfruttamento dei greyhound.

Quindi, prima di dirci di nuovo quanto i tuoi cani siano comodi sul divano, e quanto la loro razza sia nata per correre, prova a capire che noi ci stiamo battendo per le migliaia di greyhound che non sono sul tuo divano. Lavoriamo per gli oppressi.



Inoltre ci opponiamo al fatto che le nostre tasse sovvenzionino questa mattanza.

E per vostra informazione, l’amministratore di questa pagina è anche contro alle corse di cavalli, per le quali oltre 18.000 cavalli sono uccisi ogni anno.

Ci opponiamo alle fabbriche di cuccioli e sosteniamo tutti i movimenti che si battono per il benessere degli animali. Ci sono molti gruppi che diffondono queste atrocità…noi diamo il nostro contributo per diffondere questa in particolare.



L’industria è in funzione dal 1927, e non si sta migliorando. Quindi, ce ne stiamo seduti in silenzio a supportare quei pochi che badano ai loro cani, mentre altri migliaia muoiono?



Abituatevi a noi, perché non andiamo da nessuna parte!!
